The Interesting Facts About Hyaluronic Acid

The Interesting Facts About Hyaluronic Acid

Shocking Skincare Fact: Not all Hyaluronic Acid's Are Created Equal.

Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found in high concentrations within your skin. It’s responsible for your skin’s plumpness and volume (yes, please!) It’s also found in the fluid that surrounds the eyes and joints.

Hyaluronic Acid acts like a super squishy sponge - attracting and retaining 1,000 times its own weight in water! It’s an excellent non-comedogenic hydrating ingredient that is essential for maintaining your skin’s moisture balance and texture.

In fact, Hyaluronic Acid actually increases the hydration content in the epidermis so that it looks and feels soft, supple and radiant.

It's no surprise that because of all these amazing properties, Hyaluronic Acid has become one of the “must-have” skincare ingredients - especially if you are experiencing dry, dehydrated skin OR you’ve enjoyed more than thirty trips around the sun and your skin is starting to “mature”.

Why? Because unfortunately for us, the natural production of hyaluronic acid declines with age. Dang it. So it becomes more important to include a skincare supplement which contains a generous dose of safe, Hyaluronic acid.

However, please be informed: there are two main sources of Hyaluronic Acid.

The first is extracted from animals, typically from the combs of the proud Rooster.

The second option is via natural bacterial fermentation. At Queen Street Apothecary, we are proud of our 100% vegan and 100% cruelty-free ingredients, so rest assured our Hyaluronic Acid is sourced from bacterial fermentation using glucose (that is corn derived) to create the Hyaluronic Acid in a bio fermentation process.

In our Queen Street Apothecary range, you can find Hyaluronic Acid in the following products:
